The first of many

This weekend was an exiting challenge, I had my first event. It was for a lady's birthday party in Waterkloof. It was an afternoon lunch, so the whole theme was based on a lovely Sunday afternoon tea party.

All the arrangements were made in separate MUD tea cups and I made biscuits to accompany each tea cup and saucer.  All the tables were set in white and the only colours that were present were the the pink and purple flowers.

I made 6 different spray balls, which hung from the steel beam above the buffet table. Between each ball were individual flowers hanging in separate orchid tubes. To tie in the idea of the floating balls, I placed smaller balls in MUD mugs on the table as well.

It was hard work but the end result was beautiful!

Flowers and love

We had a busy weekend this past week. We had the regular morning market as well as the evening Valentine's market. To make things worse, it was probably the hottest day in February. My flowers struggled throughout the day and barely made it to the evening. But with lots of cold water, ice and love, they managed to survive and make a few ladies very happy!

My mom and dad came through from the Free State to help me with all the preparation, which helped tremendously. And all my friends came to support nb Create at the evening market. I am really spoilt!

I sold almost all 52 of the arrangements and the people loved the soft pastel colour theme of this week.

The evening market was a huge success!

I am not going to be at the market next week as I have my first big order for an event. So I am off to finalise all the details. Wish me luck!

Tina's Day

Another weekend at the market has just come and gone and it went amazingly well! The feedback from the public is overwhelming to say the least and I could not be happier.

My friend, Bianca, has joined me in this exciting endeavor and I am pleased to have her on my side.

The theme for this week was a green and white tea party! We made floral cakes and placed them on MUD cake stands. There were little white teacups that contained different white and green arrangements and large posies matching the theme of the day.

The biggest surprise was the huge, green carnation ball, which Bianca happily made, selling within minutes. We called her Tina, because of her big, green hairstyle. Tina was not my favourite of the day (at all) but at least she was good for a laugh and she made someone very happy!

I am still in two minds about this entrepreneurial journey, on the one hand I have a Masters Degree in Interior Architecture and love designing spaces but on the other hand, I have a great passion for floral design. So which one I end up doing is going to be a great surprise?!

Next week is the Valentine’s Day Market and the theme is sultry pink and white with a touch of black. Not a revolutionary colour scheme but the designs will be!

And Finally we have Bianca and Tina....
